An interesting question is posed here
http://archbishop-cranmer.blogspot.com/2008/10/bbc-islam-should-be-treated-more.html
Should religions be treated differently if they are minority religions, many of whose adherents also belong to an ethnic minority?
The religion in question is Islam. The blog above discusses Hindu and Sikh reactions. Where does Judaism lie in all this? First of all, does the BBC treat this minority religion with 'kid gloves' as well.
What is the BBC's attitude to the 'Old Testament', the sacred book of Judaism for instance? How does the BBC approach the Jewish community? Do their programmes demonstrate as much understanding of Israel as they do of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or Syria?
If the answer to any of these questions is 'not sure', then maybe the Beeb needs to do some more soul-searching.
