i suppose it was inevitable really. I've just received a tip-off from a most reliable source (who wanted to keep their identity secret - for good reason I should think!) that guess who's giving the Alternative Christmas Message on Channel 4 tomorrow? Why, none other than that cuddly epitome of Father Christmas personified - the wonderful President of Iran. In fact, The Times religion correspondent, Ruth Gledhill, has now blogged on the the story here:
When I asked my impeccable source why he thought that Channel 4 had made this very interesting move, he said one word: 'Publicity"! Nuff said.
Apparently the nature of His Nibs's broadcast will be no less than a SPIRITUAL ADDRESS (Wow! Whatever next!!) However, It has often been my experience with 'spiritual' people that quite a few of them don't have their feet on the ground. And some even suffer from delusions of granduer - thinking and behaving as if they are God Almighty and that the world is their oyster. Certainly this description seems to fit the person most comparable to Hitler in our own day, who had his own team of spiritual advisors, as is well known.
President Ahmadinejad has given our boys tremendous trouble all over the world and this is what is thought of him at the UN
And this is what the Archbishop of Canterbury said about him at a speech way back in December 2006:
In fact, if I were the Queen (no delusions of grandeur there, I assure you!) I'd be pretty angry to have my message hijacked by one of the worst rogue regimes in the world - even if the powers-that-be at Channel 4 are putting His Nibs's message on later, at 7.15 pm to be exact.
One can only think of the executives at Channel 4 having a Neville Chamberlain moment:
May God forgive them!
Oh, and incidentally, this is what Israel has to put up daily within it's borders. Just thought I'd mention that as an afterthought:
For what comes across in His Nibs's diatribe (sorry, I meant to say SPIRITUAL ADDRESS) is the repeated use of the word 'Jesus'. The only problem is that His Nibs fails to mention one salient factor about Jesus. I'm sure you can guess which one. For in this, His Nibs is following in the illustrious footsteps of his predecessor, Adolf Hitler:
And here is the left leaning, academic, Engage site's view of the matter:
