Just been to the most wonderful 'Post-Wedding Party held by two of my closest friends for their son and daughter-in-law in the stunning setting of
Bikta Baya'ar, Kibbutz Bet Oren
The reception was lovely with strange and exotic food which I for one had never tasted before. The music was subtle and evocative, mostly Israeli.
The relatives and friends were of all ages and from different sections of Israeli society.
The Blessing Ceremony by
Rabbi Gideon Sylvester
formerly of Radlett, but who now lives in Jerusalem was short and sincere, as were the readings prepared by members of the family.
The dinner was sumptuous and the musical entertainment by
included favourites from
Simon and Garfunkel
which dates me, but so what.
And the icing on the cake was that my daughter came up from Tel Aviv, thinking she wouldn't know anyone, but found out that the bridgroom worked at
with her closest friend.
And then, as we were leaving, she was asked to be the guest speaker at a major Haifa event later in the year.
Only in Israel!
